Donating to the Animals at ZOO Ljubljana

A new feature has launched at ZOO Ljubljana — a donation device that lets you give a little more than the cost of a coffee. At the enclosure of the chimpanzee baby you can now donate in the simplest possible way. On the small screen of the Easy Give device you select an amount (€5, €10, €20, €50 or any amount you choose), tap your card and you have already contributed to the care of the animals. No cash, no fuss, just one short ‘click’. 

Why donate for chimpanzee Togo and Neža?

The baby Togo and his mother Neža are part of our chimpanzee family, which reminds us every day how complex, emotional and sensitive these creatures are. Just like a young child, Togo is growing up, exploring and learning, and he needs a safe environment. Your contributions help us raise funds to buy cameras that will enable us to monitor the chimpanzees even when keepers cannot be right there with them. This means a faster response, a better understanding of their behaviour and, above all, greater safety. Donations are part of good practice at zoos around the world. 

Donating to the animals has long been an established practice at many zoos around the world. Caring for animals — especially intelligent and socially demanding species such as chimpanzees — is very demanding and associated with high costs. Such contributions enable additional improvements that go beyond basic care and provide the animals with even better living conditions.
