Christmas Gifts for the Animals

Keepers offer the animals a range of interesting, varied enrichment activities tailored to each species, giving them a fresh and engaging experience in their environment. Hiding food in Christmas parcels and other props encourages the animals to work for their meals in a similar way to the wild. Curiosity is essential for living creatures, so we encourage the animals not to get bored. By watching, visitors can learn about the remarkable skills of animals that exceed our capabilities, such as their sense of smell or strength. Animals usually destroy the enrichment, though sometimes it turns out they are not as interested as we had planned. The enrichment ideas that are safe and that you see at our zoo can also be used with your own pets to brighten their festive days.
