Intelligent animals
As you can see during training and feeding at the zoo, California sea lions are extremely intelligent and agile animals. They have a very flexible spine that allows them to tilt their head back all the way to their hind flippers, and in the water this lets them turn their body extremely quickly. Other physical features of the sea lion also tell of their largely marine life. They have flipper-shaped limbs, a hydrodynamically shaped body, and a thick layer of insulating fatty tissue beneath the skin that helps them maintain body temperature in cold seas.

Birthday Celebration
You can celebrate a birthday at ZOO Ljubljana. During the celebration we experience smaller domesticated animals, with a focus on insects. We also visit the more charismatic larger animals in their enclosures and learn many interesting things about them. The celebrations are educational and fun, suitable for children and adults alike. We provide food, drink and an educational and entertaining programme.
