Eastern Quoll

Dasyurus viverrinus

The eastern quoll is a medium-sized carnivorous marsupial native to Australia. Males are the size of a small domestic cat, on average 60 cm long and weighing just over a kilogram. Females are somewhat smaller. Small white spots cover the whole body, except for the bushy tail, which may have a white tip. There are two colour variants: fawn and black, both with white spots on the body but not on the tail. It differs from the other quolls (six species in total) in having no spots on the tail, four toes on the hind foot and a smaller, narrower head.
