Panthera tigris altaica

RECORD-HOLDER: The largest and heaviest wild cat. Males are on average 3.25 m long and usually weigh 200–250 kg, with the heaviest reaching 384 kg. The Siberian tigers you can see at Ljubljana Zoo are the largest subspecies of tiger and thus the largest wild cats. They differ from other subspecies in size and in their lighter coat. On the flanks they have broad stripes, the chest and belly are white, and around the neck is a band of thick white fur.
