Conservation

Red Panda

Ljubljana Zoo financially supports the Red Panda Network, an organisation working in Nepal on the border with India that is dedicated to preserving the habitat of red pandas.

Gibbons

The Nam Cat Tien area is the most important and best-preserved part of the tropical rainforest of Southeast Asia, in Vietnam. The European Breeding Programme supports the conservation programme in Cuc Phuong National Park, home to the primate research centre.

Pelicans

The aim of the "Pelican Village: Life on a Raft!" project is to install an additional raft for nesting endangered Dalmatian pelicans on Lake Skadar.

Vultures

Ljubljana Zoo has sponsored part of the video monitoring at the vulture feeding station in the Lago di Cornino reserve. The online cameras installed at the feeding station are a fundamental tool for the management and monitoring of griffon vultures, other wildlife and the area itself.

Educational boards about lynxes

With the installation of educational boards about lynxes, we introduce visitors to the conservation projects that are being carried out in Slovenia for lynx conservation, or that have been topical in the past.
