Meet Your Favourite Animal
What is your favourite animal? A giraffe? A snake? A spider? Or perhaps an alpaca? We have prepared a programme for individuals where you meet your favourite animal. You spend up to 30 minutes in its company to get to know it more closely. Then you can use your zoo admission for the rest of the day. The programme is suitable for adults and children. Our visitors most often give it as a gift.
Programme description
We give you a close encounter with your favourite animal that lives at ZOO Ljubljana. We will show you its care and training, allow contact or feeding with some animals, and the keeper or guide will tell you everything you want to know about it.
You can also use the meeting to overcome fears and prejudices about animals (spiders, snakes, insects).
The programme is for adults and children aged 6 and over. The event lasts up to 30 minutes. We accept up to 3 people per time slot.
Our most unforgettable ZOO programmes can now be bought and given as gifts online, with no contact and no waiting for postal delivery!
Price
Tuesday to Friday (excluding school holidays and public holidays):
€30.00 + admission as per current pricing
Weekends, public holidays and school holidays:
€35.00 + admission as per current pricing
A child under 10 must be accompanied on the programme by an adult, for whom the programme is free; admission is paid as per current pricing.
When two programmes are bought together, the second participant from the same family receives a 20% discount on the programme, on the same animal and the same time slot (discounts cannot be combined).
You may use your zoo admission for the rest of the day.
Bookings
If the programme was purchased through our online shop, you can book your preferred date online. You will need the number and booking key you received with your purchase or which appears on your gift voucher. Make your booking at this link: https://trgovina.zoo.si/rezervacije-programov/
The programme must be booked at least three days before the desired date. You cannot turn up at a time slot without a prior booking!
If the programme was paid for by invoice or at the ZOO Ljubljana ticket desk, please book your time slot following the instructions on the voucher you received (by email narocila@zoo.si.)
The education service is available by phone between 07:30 and 11:30, so please send all booking enquiries by email, to which we respond regularly.
If you cannot attend on the agreed date, please notify us at least one working day in advance so we can arrange a new date. Refunds are not available.

All participants (or their parents/guardians) must sign a statement of awareness of responsibility, downloadable as a PDF at the bottom of the page.
Special clothing
For the best possible experience meeting the animals, we want to be in close contact with them. Since people do not have thick fur or feathers, we need clothing for close encounters with the animals. Animals have claws, beaks or teeth, so without suitable clothing and footwear, a very friendly meeting can leave you with scratches and the risk of infection. For meetings with animals, closed footwear (sandals and flip-flops are not suitable) and long trousers and long-sleeved shirts are therefore mandatory, even in summer.

Birthday Celebration
You can celebrate a birthday at ZOO Ljubljana. During the celebration we experience smaller domesticated animals, with a focus on insects. We also visit the more charismatic larger animals in their enclosures and learn many interesting things about them. The celebrations are educational and fun, suitable for children and adults alike. We provide food, drink and an educational and entertaining programme.
